Prima's director Ewa (eh-va) Salecka, is an award - winning choral director, conductor, events producer, performer, vocal coach and educator who has been a driving force behind York’s thriving choral scene for over thirteen years.
In this time she has directed community and auditioning choirs of all line-ups and sizes, trained hundreds of singers and produced countless high class events, collaborating with local and international choirs, orchestras, soloists, brass bands and decorated composers.
A passion for personal development and an unremitting belief in the power of singing and its impact on mental health have given Ewa the vitality to lead Prima rehearsals continuously without a single lapse throughout the two years of pandemic - either online or in person.
Ewa is a classically trained pianist and a highly experienced vocal coach. She holds an academic degree in Choral Conducting & Music Education and specialises in Contemporary Vocal Training techniques. She remains a firm ambassador for new and exciting choral programmes and performance opportunities aimed at expanding the horizons of her singers and the national and international audiences.
